Times are difficult, as everyone knows, but what can be done? Opinions are divided on this. Doing nothing and waiting for better times is the worst thing to do. Important activities in the coming years would be staff recruiting and training as well as sustainable management, especially now with increased energy costs! Employer branding and sustainability are also important topics at the 15th European HEALTH & SPA AWARDs, so quality management is currently a great opportunity for hotels, thermal springs, spas, medical spas, wellness clinics or day spas to draw attention to attract new employees!
Registrations have already started. The Agency for Health & Wellness is again organising the first independent European award with critical and objective assessments in the health and spa sector for 15 years! Registration is open until 17 March and you may register.
As always, the view is critically oriented in order to enhance the industry, especially the companies that offer good service with passion and competence and employ motivated staff. Companies should also receive good productive feedback - because transparency is the intention!
New category & certificate
In 2022 a new category was added and you can also book a certificate with it. "Wellness Clinic" expands the portfolio to include clinical resorts that provide professional and medical services.
As more and more clinics as well as spas offer a broader medical service, we wanted to take into account the new developments in the market with this.
Therefore, there are two different certificates, the
1. European Health & Sustainable Quality (EHSQ) SPA and the
2. EHSQ Wellness Clinic

In cooperation with tourism associations, health and wellness associations, as well as various media and experts from the industry, we were able to create an award that is unique in Europe.
Concept
We also want to use the award to drive innovation in the world of spa & wellness to meet the guest's demand for health. The European HEALTH & SPA AWARDs aim to highlight the opportunities and trends in the wellness industry and to showcase the changes, as well as the quality of wellness businesses, and product innovations.
The awards represent a seal of quality that helps define the quality of wellness and sets benchmarks.
Special features
We look at the whole company, many aspects of the company. Agency for Health & Wellness focus importance to environmentally friendly management, as the importance has also been brought to the front by energy costs. Now climate protection is also an important social issue in the EU, not only on a personal level but also on a political level. Sustainable goals should be achieved in order to create resource and environment friendly tourism together.
We also encourage the participants to promote a new lifestyle.
Benefit for the guest
But it is also about health concepts that should have a benefit for the customer. Wellness must have an effect on the guest's physical and mental health and promote well-being. Health, according to a definition put forward by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 1948, is the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity.
Reviews
All these components lead to a certificate that is unique in Europe, which not only honours you and your company, but also creates trust with the guest. The result is calculated from a two-stage evaluation process by an experienced jury of experts, as well as independent mystery checks by industry experts.
The best entries will now be awarded in 13 categories, receive media exposure and be honoured at a gala event. The total value of the European HEALTH & SPA AWARDs is again around 30,000 Euros this year!

Many well-known and respected companies have already taken advantage of the opportunity and registered for the European HEALTH & SPA AWARDs.
