After a very complex and critical evaluation of all submissions the winners from 49 nominees were presented to the audience. The national and international audience was welcomed by organizer and head of the Agency for Health & Wellness Norbert Hintermayer. ORF Lady Isabella Krassnitzer was the host of the gala ceremony. Musical entertainment was provided by the formation Cuevé Blue.

The event was organized by the Agency for Health & Wellness with the support of the Standortagentur Tirol, the FH Joanneum and Hoteleinrichtungsbetrieb Koll.

This year the Best Wellness Hotels Austria received a special honor for their outstanding achievements in the wellness industry over the last 20 years.

The jury chairman Dr. Franz Linser presented the project, which consists of a two-stage judging process and is the toughest independent evaluation in Europe. Basis for assessment is a comprehensive questionnaire and a mystery check. The evaluation is based on 8 criteria points (design, technique, supply & service, profitability, benefit, creativity, sustainability and social corporate responsibility (SCR)). The European HEALTH & SPA AWRADs were awarded in 10 different categories. European spa companies, product innovations and treatments.

Of particular note is that this year for the first time, the Best Spa Managers in Europe have been awarded.

The awarding of the Best Spa Manager, who were honored for the first time this year, was very emotional. In addition to the winner Martine Fehr also Virginia Lara Perez, Thomas Zimmermann, Angelika Baur Schermbach, Nicole Prass-Anton, Maria Mihelekaki, Sarah Tschenett, Carina Laux and Bernhard Kandera were nominated in this category.

SPA EVENT
On the same day also the renowned SPA EVENT on the subject “How to make a spa profitable“  took place for the 5th time. A range of participants from the german-speaking countries participated on the SPA EVENT to experience the interesting presentations of the top speakers. The SPA EVENT is also a key networking platform for wellness experts. The sponsors of the event also had the possibility to present their services and products.
