It was another unique evening with a lot of emotions, due to that the results are communicated for the first time on the evening of the event. The location, the Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna, was a worthy one and equal to the high level of the participants. Therefore, the Award in Europe is also traded as the "Oscar" in the Wellness & Spa business, because the evaluation of submissions is very costly. The winners were presented to the public during a glittering gala from 45 nominees. The international audience was welcomed by the organizer and head of the Agency for Health & Wellness Norbert Hintermayer. The host of the evening was ORF presenter Olivia Peter. For the musical accompaniment cared the international star guest Stella Jones.
The event was implemented by the Agency for Health & Wellness with support from 
Goldbad.
The awards are the result of an independent jury and represent the toughest independent evaluation in Europe, because many submitters drop out of the strict procedure. An extensive questionnaire and a mystery check is based on the assessment. The evaluation is carried out on the basis of 8 criteria points (design & engineering, health, offers & service, economy, benefit, creativity, sustainability and social corporate responsibility (SCR)). The European HEALTH & SPA AWARD have been awarded in 10 different categories. Honored have been European wellness companies, spa manager, product innovations and treatments.

The other nominees were the spa manager Harald Binder from the Falkensteiner Therme und Golfhotel Bad Waltersdorf (A) and the ZK Hotel Szállodaipari Kft - Mandara Wellness Resort (HUN), who submitted to the category Best Hotel Spa.
